Laura from Laura Candler’s Teaching Resources reached out to see if I could help her update a website I have frequented for a LONG time. I taught upper elementary and reading for many years, and Laura’s site was always one I relied on for teaching resources and ideas. After doing a website audit, we determined the best plan was to export the site, replace the theme since it was outdated, and update all of the pages. It was a project that happened across several months and with the assistance of Laura’s daughter Amy.
Laura Candler’s Project Plan:
The first step with Laura’s site was to replace the theme and build out the new site components including the header, footer, home, blog, single post, search, category, storefront and single product pages. Once these were done, then we started on individual pages. With ~150 pages and ~350 blog, it took a fair amount of time. It’s been so fun checking out the before and after, and the new site looks fantastic. Laura’s daughter Amy has taken on post updates and created/revised some of the site graphics. We are continuing to work together, so stay tuned for future site improvements.
